The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) constitutes a major media franchise of superhero films (derived from Marvel Comics characters) independently produced by Marvel Studios, beginning with Iron Man, then the Hulk, Thor, Captain America, The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and more. These are the current Marvel Cinematic Universe films, in chronological order (below) through 2020. Box-office figures are for domestic showings. Marvel's The Avengers (2012) was the box-office champ (both domestic and worldwide) for a long while, until Black Panther (2018) surpassed it 6 years later, with stiff competition from The Avengers: Infinity War (2018), but every Marvel film was then overwhelmed by Avengers: Endgame (2019) - Marvel's most successful movie ever. |
